January SAT 2012 CR International Compiled List of Answers.

yes, i agree. it was ’ very pleasant’

Well I am pretty sure section 2 is the experimental… That getting lost…

What was the purpose of the star?

Also, I thought they said something about how the manga reflected contemprorary 21st century Japan with beautiful art or something along those lines, so is it intricate plot or artfulness or uniqueness of style?

thx

Anyone who remembers the passages which came in the experimental section

Could anyone tell me other choices of that"marker"question…I just cannot remember

@AnimoC …so do you remember that chess passage? .in which section was it then?
it was indicators , i guess

@AnimoC, I don’t think any of the other choices mattered, because they were all absurd. This is one of the answers that are simply indisputable, and have received the unanimous confirmation of CC users. Markers meant indicators.

@ccef888, I went through the process of elimination with the purpose of the star in the passage, and landed upon its purpose being ‘connecting otherwise unconnected and irrelevant episodes of Dade’s life.’ Not 100% sure, so don’t take my word for it. This is one of those controversial questions, that did not make it onto the compiled answer list, due to a lack of consensus.

@fat_nerd Oh yes, I put unexpected benefits as well for that question.

@ccef888 I put the purpose of the star as Dade exploring the larger world (not sure about that one), and for the Japan one I put intricate plot. That question was referring to the example cited by the teacher though, not to manga reflecting Japan with beautiful art.

^ i remember putting uniqueness somewhere lol
and yes i put exploring the larger world as well…the other choices just didnot make sense

Same answer, saeedajmal, “uniqueness of style.” If you would like to view my interpretation which led to this answer, refer to the previous page.

i am not sure about the chess…but i think section 2 has only one long article…
i just can’t remember the “marker”…
and "uniqueness"TAT

Fat_nerd …this question was specifically referring to passage 1 , right? …if yes , then i certainly put it

AnimoC, i was actually confused between ‘models’ and ‘indicators’…i put indicators though, eventually

more questions?

Alright, I think we have reached a consensus on all answers except ‘artfulness vs uniqueness of style vs intricate plot’ and ‘overly sweeping vs justifiably complimentary.’ As for the sentence completions, they are 100% accurate.

Oh yes …the chess one was talking about the effects of technology …did anyone get that?

^ I have very vague memory of the chess passage, saeedajmal, so I don’t think I can help you on any of the answers there, besides the one stated in the OP.

haha, but the point is …which section was it in then?..i remember i got two passages with 8 sc questions. one was definitely the star one .not sure about the other though

well maybe i can remember something about the chess…
so is that humorless or weighty?

i think section 2 had 8 sc

I am quite certain uniqueness of style is incorrect. He talks about how it was “dominated by beautiful pictures” and the whole passage is really about how artistic it is. Though uniqueness of style works, nothing in his description indicated it was “unique” and “different” from other stuff. He was just emphasizing how well it is drawn.

AnimoC, so did you get a reading experimental?
