January SAT for seniors

Some people say its a common thing to take the January SAT as a senior. Has anyone ever had an experience where Jan. 1st deadline colleges took January SAT? I am going to call up the individual privates I'm applying to on Monday since their offices are closed for the thanksgiving break/weekend. I'm just curious if anyone has ever sent their Jan. SAT in senior year and if it is a conventional thing to do so.

I am on the same boat. I’ve already called a few schools (some ivy leagues…JHU, CMU etc) and they told me that if the scores arrive on time, they will consider it. Otherwise, screwed. So it really depends on luck whether the score gets there before the adcoms start reviewing your application.

If you search for a college on the collegeboard’s website, it typically says when the score reports are due by in the SAT section.

The worst that can happen is that they won’t consider your scores in the admissions process. Even if that’s the case, your scores will still be considered for scholarships and such.

If you feel you can do better, go ahead and take the test. The worst case scenarios aren’t that bad, and there could be a decision-changing benefit.

Ya, hopefully it comes through. If its the question of “if your application will be read”, then I think its a pretty good chance it won’t. Most of the people say they won’t read seriously until late feb. or so.
