January SAT? (HELP) (GIH!!!)

The school counselors recommends students in their junior to take their first SAT in December/January. I just had a talk with my counselor recently, and he said I should take the January one. The deadline to sign up is December 5th. I'm not really sure if I should take it or not. The last SAT practice I took was about 1 year ago and I scored a 1900 (best so far). I haven't taken a SAT course since. Nor have I studied for the SAT specifically that much in the last year (Just some vocab stuff) Exams are next week and the week after that, so I can't study for the SAT now(too little time). So after exams I have about 4 weeks to study for the SAT (specifically) and 3 weeks to balance that with school, life, etc. I currently have the barron's 2400 book, the official guide, and some additional textbook/vocab from last year's SAT course that I took. So my question is, should I take it? My goal is in the 2200-2400 range, is that possible?

ps. I have additional review hours in the SAT course area. It's around 24-48 hours spread for 1-2weeks I think... (So that'l help I think)

Cliffs
-counselors say I should take january SAT
-OP doesn't think he's ready (didn't study for SAT for a year)
-has around 7 weeks to study (4 weeks for SAT specifically, 3 balancing with busy life)
-last practice SAT was 1900
-also didn't take PSAT due to sports competition
-hoping to get 2200-2400
-should i take the january one or wait ?

bumping this

Is this recommendation a new, completely out of the blue, thing? If not, and you haven’t made time before now to study, what would your plan be to get ready for some later test date? Is it your intention to retest and retest until you get the score you want (in which case, you’ve got 7 chances between January and next December), or to study until you’re confident you can get the score you want on the first or second try? Is there another test date between now and the June test where you’ll have a big chunk of time with few non-SAT commitments?

I want to do the SAT 2 times max. One would be ideal, but probably not going to happen.
I don’t think I’ll have enough time for the may exam, due to AP exams, sports, etc. So if I do the January one and do bad, my next one will probably be June.
