I took the November SAT and got quite low (CR 640, M 800, W 700) and will be retaking it in January. However, not all the schools I'm applying to accept January scores, and some accept but do not recommend sending such late scores. For example:

I emailed MIT and the reply was:
We have, in the past, accepted test scores submitted after January 1, but there is no guarantee that they will arrive on time to be reviewed with your application. In most cases they do, but we cannot control outside factors like inclement weather that may postpone or cancel tests. If it is your intension to take late tests, please indicate that on your application so that it is not
marked incomplete.

And Penn said:
Regular Decision candidates should complete all testing by December of their senior year. First-time testing delayed until January will place the applicant at a disadvantage in our evaluation process. Tests retaken in January will be accepted. If you are applying regular decision and must sit for the SAT in January, you should be aware that it is possible that we will not receive your scores in time for the selection process. This is why Penn strongly encourages students to sit for the exams prior to the January date. Applicants, who sit for the January test date, must make arrangements to have their scores rushed to Penn.

Questions:
1) Should I set these schools as BOTH my November and January SAT score recipients (have to pay twice) or just my January one and pray that it reaches in time?

2) What about schools like Yale that definitely accepts January scores? Should I spend an extra 9.50 and send them my November score just in case?

3) And what about schools that clearly state that they do not accept January SAT score? Should I take the chance and send it to them nonetheless?

4) And is my score good enough for UMichigan? Oh and UMich does not require SAT Subject Test scores, but should I send them anyway?
