January SAT

Hey everyone, so I applied to some pretty elite US schools back in December. I sent my current testing which was not great to say the least (2080 SAT composite) but then I retook the test in January. I was just wondering, whats the best way to let colleges know to expect more testing from me (hold off on reviewing my app until I submit the Jan test). All the schools i’m referring to accept the Jan SAT btw. Should I send an email to the admissions office? Should I list them as recipients prior to accessing my scores? Thanks so much!!!

The schools in question are: Amherst, Columbia, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Cornell, UChicago, and New York University

Please guys, anyone???

Email them.

Tell them you are confident that you can improve your score. They’ll bear that in mind and probably put your review on hold. That’s what my counselor has told me.

Thank you so much! I think thats a really great idea. I’m just nervous, because what if it doesn’t improve. Would they hold that against me?

Well, I’m not qualified to answer that question. But I don’t think it’ll make much difference. An improvement might boost your chances. But I don’t believe a reduction in your score will undermine your application since most of the colleges you applied to only look at your super score.
