January SATs accepted?

My SAT I math kinda sucks: I got 650, twice. Although my 750 verbal kinda makes up for that, I’m thinking of retaking in January. Some schools don’t accept it, some do, but for Brown I’m confused.

This is what they say for RD on the ‘About the Application’ page:

“Brown requires every applicant to submit results of either the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) … These tests should be completed by December of your final year of secondary school.”

But then on the ‘Application Deadlines’ page with all the dates it says:

“Results from the SAT I and three SAT II Subject Tests - January 1; or the January administration of the tests”

■■■, so I guess it’s still cool to take the January test?

I’m just wondering if they could take my Jan. scores, which hopefully will be great. That would make me feel a little better about applying to Brown.

Has anyone here applied in previous years and used Jan. scores?

I think, as in MIT, they prefer applicants to submit the December tests. But it seems that they do ACCEPT the results of Jan's tests.

I suggest you call them to make sure.

January tests are accepted but December tests are preferred.
