Japanese at University of Hawaii at Manoa

So, I’m currently in the second half of my first year of college at a University. I’m a Japanese major, and while I love my major, I’m not crazy about my school. I had considered going to Uh Manoa previously, but ultimately went elsewhere. Now I’m considering going again.

My question is, what are the Japanese and Korean programs like there? I’m currently going to a decently ranked school (thought it’s definitely no ivy league) and I’m just weary to transfer somewhere if I’m unsure about the quality of my chosen field of study.

Thanks for your help!

Here is the catalog listing for Japanese courses at UH Manoa:

My impression is that East Asian Studies is among the very best programs at UH-Manoa. There are lots of interested students. There are also unusual opportunities to do Japanese exposure/jobs without going abroad. I would not be worried about the depth or importance of the major at that school.
