Japanese SAT Subject Test?

Hello :D I was just wondering about the difficulty of the Japanese SAT II. Would a non-native speaker be able to perform well (750+)? At what level of the JLPT should a student be able to get a 750+? What are some good resources to study for the test? Would it be possible for a non-native speaker to self-study for the test and still do well? About how long should you take Japanese to be prepared for the exam? Is the Japanese SAT II comparable to the AP Japanese exam? Is the curve generous or brutal?

Thanks in advance :)

I imagine that the curve would be pretty rough because most people who take the east asian subject tests are native speakers. That’s pure speculation, though. Good luck with the test! :)

The SAT Subject test is about the same level as JLPT N5, where AP is somewhere between N4 and N3, so the SAT is at a much lower level than AP.

A 750 puts you in the 61st percentile, so I think these scores are skewed by heritage speakers. Also be aware that the Japanese exam is only offered with listening, so you need to be able to understand the language as spoken by a native speaker.
