Hi! Has anyone taken the Japanese Subject Test?
I did the problems on collegeboard.com and they were simple but I'm not sure how the test will actually be! I am taking japanese 201 at the local university as a high school student, but the course is basic.
If anyone has any imput, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks anyway.
It's just strange that there is NOTHING at all on the internet about this test... and no posts about it.. and no one who knows about it...
hmm...

yeah it seemed like that for me before. then i just searched the old threads and made contact with some guys who took the test. i suppose that's the best thing for you to do now. good luck with the test. i hope we would do the best.

Its done!
How was it?--- I think it was O-k mostly. i made some mistakes/guesses. but overall it was pretty easy. The very end of the reading section was getting harder for me though. Hey- do you know if in the listening section the man wanted the lady to eat more food or to take food home? hmmm..
and how many wrong answers will get me around a 700 do you think?

i'm pretty sure he wanted her to eat more food. I thought it was pretty easy, the listening was the hardest part for me I guess, the conversation where it was between mr. otomo and someone else I completely spaced out on :/.

yea, it was a joke!!! but it is true that it was getting a bit and bit harder. i think that man suggested the woman to try some more. yea, i also want to know about the curve.
btw, what was your answer for 80th question. i though the ad was for the insurance company. ???

hey, what did you think about the letter one? i thought they were teammates and their team hasn't played since she has gone to live in America, right?

i thought that said teammate from america, which would be wrong since she's still living in japan.

what about the last listening question about the author... What did the girl say she wanted to do???? I said go to a lecture because I thought it was the guy who wanted to buy the book...

I answered that the team hadn't been doing well since Tetsuo-kun went to America. It was either that or they hadn't been playing games since he left, and them not doing well made more sense than them not playing at all, so I made an intelligent guess on that one. There were some kanji I wasn't familiar with. [Edit] The answer was indeed that they hadn't been doing well since Tetsuo-kun went to America. I looked up the word I couldn't remember in a dictionary.

But overall, I think I did pretty well. Maybe 2-3 wrong if I answered incorrectly on some questions. Any idea of the curve? What's an 800?

i said they were friends because i don't consider the manager a team mate? argh that is a way annoying question. They hadn't been doing well. the curve tends to be pretty steep (is that the right word?) for language tests. So like im guessing (based on whats in the practice test's scale) that -1 = 800, -2 = 790, -3 = 780, -4 = 770, etc...

Me too. There was an onomatopoeia for a sound, and it said the dog was moving his feet, so I assumed he was making noise when he slept.

Anyone remember in the listening portion the question about a woman named Midori? Another woman introduced herself to a man and said she was Midori's older sister. What was wrong with Midori? I didn't catch it, so I put down that she was late. She wasn't sick, I know that. I didn't hear anything like 病気 or ぐあいが悪い。
