Hello,

Did anyone apply and get in, esp. high schoolers? I applied this year (2012) as a high school senior, and I was rejected. The email said there were 550 applications for 20 slots.

For future years applicants, here are the basics of my stats, at the time of application. If this is any indication, I was accepted at Caltech EA and waitlisted at MIT.

Essay: about my research internship last summer and continuing research from home to achieve good results. I also mention potential research interests (these were rather vague), and my future/career interest in research.

Comments: I assume having previous lab experience/better-defined research interests/major research/science fair awards would help.

okay wow! impressive stats! I’m actually kinda glad that I didn’t waste my time applying now. But with those stats, I’m sure you’ll get something eventually.

I applied but haven’t heard back, so I guess that’s good new… They haven’t reject me yet. I am a HS sophmore…
