Jefferson Scholar question.

I'm not entirely sure how, but I've been lucky enough to be nominated as a Jefferson Scholar candidate from my school.

I've heard from people that you need to write a personal essay as part of the process.

At the moment, I've been writing an essay for my normal application to UVA -essay #5, on the topic of my choice.

Would I be able to submit this essay for Jefferson Scholar admission as well as normal admission? Or should I write two?

I'd be happy to put in whatever work is necessary, but I wouldn't mind saving time.

Thanks, it's much appreciated.

The Jefferson Scholars Foundation is not connected with the admission dept (i’m 99% sure). So I don’t see why there would be any problem with using the same essay for both.

looks good to me

Plenty of students tweak their Jeff essay and use it for their open ended application essay. We have no problem with this. Goodness knows you’re writing plenty of essays! No need to add one more to the list.

Thanks for the information.

I’ve just submitted everything, hopefully I do alright. I didn’t even really know about UVa until the nomination, but I’m glad I had the opportunity.
