Are the jefferson scholars basically determined based on SAT score, cause my bro(going to UVA, who really wanted to become a jefferson scholar) told me he wasnt even nominated from the high school, but someone who was ranked much lower than him got nominated because she got a high(2200) SAT score. and 2 of his freinds at UVA got 2300's on their SAT's. I have SAT's no where near that, but I really want to become a j scholar.

So is it true that SAT's scores generally determine if you are a good candidate for the j scholar?

Your school nominates candiates. Most schools select the best all-around student they have (grades, leadership, involvement, testing), but I guess some might play some games. Candidates then have local interviews with an alumni board. Finalists are flown the Charlottesville for a finalist weekend. See jeffersonscholars.org for more information.

SAT's and GPA are part of the process, but the key words are "leadership, scholarship, citizenship" so your role in your school and community would be a factor.
