I just received an invitation to apply for this but I’m a little confused (never heard about it before). It’s a six course sequence where you read and analyze core texts and get a certificate in Core Texts and Ideas… honestly it sounds a lot like Plan II which I’ve been accepted to and will enroll in if I attend UT. I am also going to double major in something else so I don’t want to stretch myself thing doing this + Plan II + my major if this Jefferson thing doesn’t have any real benefits… Has anyone applied/attended this program and if so what did you do, did you like it, and how time-consuming was it? My non-Plan II major is in the College of Liberal Arts if that makes a difference. Thanks.
Wow I didn’t see someone else made a thread about it. Whoops. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-texas-austin/1750610-jefferson-scholars-program.html#latest Here’s the link for others. I may apply.
