The current President since 1994, Jehuda Reinharz is set to leave at latest, June of 2011. I have been reading articles about Brandeis, and nearly all of them speak very highly of the current President and how he did a great deal to make Brandeis what it is today. As a soon-to-be student, I was wondering if his leaving will not bode well for Brandeis.

Depends on his replacement. Reinharz was a class act, but I am hopeful that a school such as Brandeis can attract quality applicant for the position.

Reinharz was on balance a good president, but I think he’s a bit past his sell-by date.
8805card is correct, it will all depend on his replacement. Back when I was a student we went from a bad president (Marver Bernstein) to a really, really bad president (Evelyn Handler) and somehow we all (and Brandeis) survived.
