Jellybeans!!!

Will anyone please read my essay about jellybeans below? It is for a scholarship at BYU. The prompt is to write about how you eat jellybeans and what it shows about your character. I have to mail it tomorrow, so if you can point out any grammar mistakes or anything that sounds weird I’d appreciate it. Thank you!

Imagine the typical day of a high school student: she wakes up early, gets ready for the day, goes to school, and, when the merciful bell finally rings, returns home. At this point, she has a decision to make. Her friends are going to the mall and there is a new movie she wants to see, but she also has a calculus test tomorrow, not to mention the history paper due in two days. What should she do? I am faced with situations like this all the time. For me, the solution is to do whatever I like the least first. That way, I can get the bad over with and truly enjoy the good. Believe it or not, this attitude is present in the way I eat jellybeans.

Yes, jellybeans can show a great deal about a person’s character. They are a tricky sweet. They are so small and innocent-looking, but if one isn’t careful, she will find that she has sat in front of the television for an hour and that half of the once full bag of jellybeans is gone. Self discipline is a must. However, they can be a wonderful treat when eaten in the correct way. There is no universal correct way; each individual must determine which way is correct for himself.

I always eat jellybeans the same way. I start with the flavor I like the least. Usually, the green jellybeans are the first to go. I do not throw them away; that would be a waste. Instead, I eat them (or share them with someone who really likes them). I eat them fairly quickly, in order to get them over with. Usually, I end up enjoying them, even if not as much as my favorite colors.

After my least favorite color, I go to my next least favorite color. I continue to do this until I make it to my favorite color: red! Red jellybeans are the most delicious jellybeans on the face of this planet. They are what I had been waiting for. When I eat the red ones, I eat them slowly and truly savor the taste. I want them to last as long as possible. They are my reward for being patient.

Everyday life is full of decisions to make. When I make the decision to do the difficult things first, I receive many rewards and blessings. Take homework, for example. When I do my homework first instead of doing what I want to do, I am left stress-free for the rest of the day, knowing that I don’t having any assignments looming over my head. Another example is chores. Even though I do not enjoy tidying up the house, when I do, I am more relaxed and less nervous for the rest of the day. Each unenjoyable task pays off in the end. Or, in other words, for every green jellybean, there is a delectable red jellybean waiting.

Each and every jellybean adds its own unique taste and color to life. Each one is an essential component of happiness. If there were only red jellybeans, life would get very boring very fast. However, when each of the colors are present, they come together to form a blend of color, much like a rainbow, that is more beautiful and inspiring than one color could ever be on its own.

its really cute ,maybe u should try to restate the main idea / thesis a bit more evidently in the conclusion to contribute to a " im wrapping up now" effect but just like a sentence or smthing
