Jennings vs. Broward?

A quick? comparing Jennings and Broward. I know the rooms are the same size. And Broward has a better location.

But ________ fill in the blanks please.

If you are a freshman, than go for Broward!

basically the same place, but broward has more people in it, might smell sort of weird, and is a better location by about 2 minutes of walking (if that)

I heard that Jennings had been remodeled. Is this true?

gator… It was last summer

also, the dressers in jennings have 1 extra drawer, and when i was in there, it fell like the room was a little bit bigger than broward.

Thanks everyone I guess Broward is all about location? and Jennings has a newer feeling to it.

My D lived in Jennings and Broward. S lives in Broward now. Broward is closer to classes and Food. Broward should be done this summer replacing all of the rooms flooring and windows (S’s were brand new on the West wing Fall 2010). Broward is larger and has a lot more males. Jennings only has two to three floors of males—right up front by the street, last year, the rest were female dorm floors…From Jennings, To get to class and food, you walk across Museum road (very, very busy), go past the tennis courts, go past the skate park/pool/broward beach area, up a hill and around Broward Dining cafeteria—probably another 5+ minute walk vs. Broward. Jennings is probaly quieter, has a bit of a damp smell, and has really cold A/C which is so great after your walk back from class or meals. Did not notice any odor in Broward…but let’s face it…these dorms are 1960’s era, and house lots of kids, so they all have a bit of an odor. My S picked Broward first choice (most social) and Jennings second. Also, I think Jennings is in pretty good shape because it houses mostly girls, and they are a little easier on things and a bit more tidy.

jankrav Jenkins renovation was finished summer of 2010 did your D live their before or after the renovation?

Gator4ever…my D lived in Jennings several years ago and I did not know it was renovated summer 2010. I am sure there is no more damp smell then. Another plus about Jennings is that there is a footbridge from it to Beaty towers and Beaty market is open very late and carries all kinds of groceries (milk, bread, lunchmeat, snacks) and medicines if you get sick…very convenient since you have to go into campus for meals. You can put money in a Gator 1 account and just swipe your card to deduct purchases including beaty market.
