I pretty much never read the comment sections online for anything for that very reason. Though our newspaper has an online section for each of the various suburbs in the area and you can find some comic relief in the postings there (pretty much all on local politics which is about as ugly as it gets). But then you realize the posters are very serious and it makes you feel sad for them.
