Jeopardy and James Holzhauer, anyone watching?

But we are not in usual times. I don’t know if the placement of the judges has anything to do with the ruling. Just tossing it out there as a possiblity knowing its a change from how they operated for decades. From watching the show for the last 30+ years and what I have seen online in response, seems like the judges got it wrong for one reason or another.

Jeopardy Fan (which has a recap of every episode – SPOILER ALERT – THEY RESULT FROM EPISODES AIRING IN THE MORNING EACH DAY AND THUS ARE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE NIGHTLY SHOWS MOST PEOPLE WATCH and a ton of stats and history about the show), said this:

In my opinion, this was easily the worst ruling that the judges have made on the show in a great many seasons. To my ear, there is such an insignificant difference between “Barry” and “Berry” that the judges deserve to receive every single last complaint the show gets tonight on social media. Thankfully, this was immaterial to the outcome of the game and she won’t be returned, but still. Betsy should have received credit and this was 100% a terrible ruling by the judges.
