Since this program is very competitive (only 50 are accepted), does one only stand a chance of acceptance if you apply early decision? Do applicants in the regular decision pool ever get into this program?

I’m sure they do.

If M&T fills in roughly the same way the rest of Penn does ED (ie 50% of the class is accepted ED), then ~25 people are accepted ED and ~25 spots are available for RD.

Fisher takes around half early and half regular. The acceptance rate is higher early due to a combination of natural selection (only the best apply) and a bit of an ED boost (it’s your number one school).
Therefore, you still have a good chance RD.

Thanks everyone – that’s encouraging.
