Jerome Fisher

Is it possible to get rejected from the Jerome Fisher program (M&T) yet still get into just Wharton ED?

If so, is someone willing to look at my stats to see if I am competitive enough for Jerome Fisher?

Yup. Just check the box at the end of the supplement.

Thanks a lot. Any people on this forum that got accepted into the Fisher program?

well, i know there are probably some, but keep in mind that only 50 get accepted each year

I was wondering if anyone on this forum, who got into the program, could see if I was competitive enough for it.

look on page 2 of the forum for a similar post; it has my stats on it.

WOW only 50?

Probably a little bit more than 50. There are about 50 Jerome Fisher kids who chose to ATTEND Penn per class. There are those who chose to attend another college.

“The current target freshman class size for the program is approximately 50 to 55 students with five slots available annually for Wharton and Engineering students wishing to transfer into the program at the end of their freshman years. Transfers from other universities into the program are not possible.”
From Wikipedia–not really that reliable but yeah

So it’s possible to get rejected from the program, get accepted into Penn or Wharton, then transfer into Jerome Fisher after freshman year? how does that work in the application process?

^ My Penn interviewer got in that way. He didn’t get into M&T initially but got into SEAS, and then applied to transfer into M&T after his freshman year and got in.

The list of people who get in after freshman year is incredibly short. My friend in M&T showed me and it had around 10 kids on it, not even kidding. It’s hard to get into M&T. You have to write an essay in the app process as well. I don’t know much more about it.

So if you get rejected from the program, does the application go to both wharton and SEAS or do you only get to choose one?

I think you apply to either Wharton or one of the other colleges at UPenn. The application also gives you a slot to apply for M&T. If you’re rejected from M&T, you will be considered for the original college that you applied to.

Good afternoon,

I have been granted admittance to both Penn’s M&T program as well as Cornell’s school of Engineering.

I am a math and science guy. But I do not want to have a profession in Engineering. My plan is Business with an Engineering background. What I am struggling with is I am not sure if it is better to have an engineering background from a good engineering school like cornell, then go to grad school for Business. OR should i go to Penn for a lesser engineering program, but a potential ability to cruise right from bachelors into WHARTON business MBA program?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help

m&t is one of the best feeder programs into finance simply because the program is so rigorous and prestigious. m&t has excellent internship placement opportunities in both engineering and business. i dont know a lot about cornell, but i’d choose m&t if i were leanign towards a business career. also, i wouldn’t go to whartons mba program if i got in undergrad, since wharton UA’s take a lot of the same courses.
