Jerry Falwell Dead

RIP.

This probably isn't going to receive as many responses as Anna Nicole's death. But if you know your history and/or are a conservative then you most likely know about him.

I know the history...and I am very happy he died. The world is a better place.

I didn't like him. May the man RIP?

I never stated in my OP that I agreed with his views or disagreed. I just said, rest in peace and the CCer's here are probably too young to remember who he was unless they know their history or are a conservative. He was an important figure in US history in the 80's whether you like it or not.

I don't hate Christians, I am one. However, I wanted him dead.

Whatever dude.

Then don't create such a thread. He was a self-declared segregationist earlier on in his career and supported apartheid. He called civil rights "civil wrongs". I would not be surprised if he was part of the KKK. This guy is going to hell, may he not RIP.

Oh right, and Robert Byrd wasn't part of the KKK? He's a leader of the Democratic party for crying out loud! How come you don't denounce him?

If you don't like him, then why respond? You just made a fool out of yourself. And I said whatever because I'm not going to wish someone death. I'd rather not cross the CC terms of service here and my mother taught me better than that.

He helped Reagan get elected. That's the only thing I liked about him.

And I'm not going to respond to your next post. You made your point and I have other things to do than to cyberargue with you.

I never said I supported Robert Byrd nor did I even say I was a Democrat. I responded to say that he should not RIP. Falwell helped Regan get elected, and so did Carter's folly as President. Do you like Carter? See the logical fallacy of your argument, fool? I don't care if you don't respond to my post. It is quite apparent you are quite ignorant in even wishing this guy happiness in his death.

You call me a fool again and slander me in your posts, I will notify the mods.

If you honestly detest Falwell that much, don't respond. It's as simple as that. No one forced you to click on the thread title and put a gun to your head demanding that you type a post. Furthermore, your attacks against me i.e. calling me a fool, are completely offbase and uncalled for.

You can debate about his beliefs all you want, but show respect towards other CCers.

You said I made a "fool" of myself first. I previously had not insulted your intelligence. However, if you try to insult mine, I will strike yours down. Show me how I slandered you! If anything, you slandered yourself...."And I'm not going to respond to your next post."
You know better than to wish someone death, you wouldn't wish Hitler death then? You wouldn't wish someone who killed and raped an 8 year old girl death? I have a right to respond, because your title was "Jerry Falwell Dead" and I responded saying I'm happy that he died. I showed you respect until you infringed upon mine.

this is a thread to more or less say how you feel about the death of this 'human-being'.
not to demean others and make accusations etc.
i dislike racist fundamentalist christians as much as the next guy, but just cut the crap.

smurf you were just owned.

So are you saying I could not post on this thread? Well I'm quite sorry, I will.

Just read the book of Romans honey. Wait, I'll give you something more specific to read: Romans 12:21.

If you're a true Christian you would know about the act of forgiveness and not take the law into your own hands. Unless, you're one of those people who say they are Christian but have not read the Bible or don't attend church on a weekly basis.

And ask me if I care about being owned. I'm not going to let some wiseacre get the best of me. You can post your thoughts, but I'm not going to tolerate being called names. I'm going to ask a mod to oversee this thread.

First off, I did "not take the law into [my] own hands." I did not kill him, nor do I decide whether or not he goes to hell. Also, call the mods, nice way to spell around the word "ass". I'm sure they'll like that. :)

Main Entry: wise·acre
Pronunciation: 'wIz-"A-k&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle Dutch wijssegger soothsayer, modification of Old High German wIzzago; akin to Old English wItega soothsayer, witan to know
: one who pretends to knowledge or cleverness; especially : SMART ALECK

A real word! :D

Educate yourself before you criticize me. Your boorish behavior doesn't impress me and your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on.

OK, unlike you who is too arrogant to conceede when you are wrong, I did not know that word existed. However, I would not call myself uneducated or boorish when it comes to reading....I got a perfect 800 on the critical reading section of the SAT. Did you do better?

Wow, an 800 on the critical reading part of the SAT?

I certainly hope that you know the SAT does not measure intelligence, only how well you will do in college courses, such as the humanities. Actually, the acronym SAT has been a matter of debate, and it has been concluded that it doesn't stand for anything. Don't worry, you'll learn all about this in a college cognitive psychology course or hopefully work with a professor and publish a paper concerning this. :D

I can't believe people are happy about someone's death and are wishing he not rest in peace.

Schadenfreude is something to be condemned.
