Jerry Falwell Dead

<p>Way to have yourselves a flame war in the middle of this thread. Exercise some restraint next time, not for our sake, but because getting so heated up over somebody from the internet is a waste of your own energy. I've been much happier on the internet since I realized that.</p>

<p>Anyway, I disliked Falwell, a lot. I'm also going to chime in and say I'm glad he's gone.</p>

<p>Am I the only one who had never heard of this man until today?</p>

<p>^^ No. /<em>aljdflsadkjfdsa</em>/</p>

<p>EDIT: I had to Wikipedia him.
I don't think any more debates are coming today. Good luck on your paper, RDarin. (I was too lazy to create another post for this so I added it as an edit.)</p>

<p>Oh well, I have a paper to write, no time to watch for some more '''debates'''</p>

If Chief Justice Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision [Brown v. Board of Education] would never have been made…. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.

I do question the sincerity and non-violent intentions of some civil rights leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mr. James Farmer, and others, who are known to have left-wing associations.

I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.(Regarding September 11)

<p>Falwell's ability to quickly find his foot in his mouth is rivaled only by Joe Biden and John McCain. Our great nation's laughing stocks have taken a tremendous blow.</p>

<p>I greatly disliked Falwell, he made it his goal (and accomplished it) to politicize religion. That is ridiculous! And no, I'm not talking about the whole "seperation between church and state", no, te goal of religion is to be a moral and philisophical sanctuary, it is where you contemplate your you deepest thoughts and secerest, and try to find peace with yourself. Trying to wrap this into the harsh, tooth-and-nail fighting political arena destroys its holiness and reduces its moral oblications.</p>

<p>Good riddance.</p>

<p>Let's just say I live in the city he built (Lynchburg).. He created LU. 1/3 people are extremely sad. 1/3 are extremely happy. 1/3 don't care.</p>

<p>The reactions here are probably more drastic than anywhere else.</p>

<p>wow, look at this:
