Jesuit Education

It would be very helpful if a current student/alum/someone who knows could describe exactly what a jesuit education is, and what role the Catholic church plays on campus. Would a non-Catholic student feel overwhelmed or out of place?

Although, I did not attend BC, I did attend Loyola University which is also a Jesuit school. I am not Catholic and never felt out of place there even though Loyola (New Orleans) is located in an extremely Catholic city. The emphasis at a Jesuit school is on education more than the religion you practice.

Religion aside, a Jesuit education is probably the ultimate in a liberal arts education. Emphasis is placed on thinking--many times outside of the box that you may have grown up in. If you are extremely uncomfortable with change or with differences in people or ideas, then a Jesuit school is probably not the place for you. I, personally found Loyola to be the place that helped me define who I am and what I believe and am hoping that my daughter will find the same growth if she chooses a Jesuit school.
