<p>while my D did consider jewish populations at schools she was looking at, it was not based on the number of jewish students. It was based on the strength and commitment by the school to embrace and encourage diversity. Some schools that have small numbers of jewish students are very strong. (including those in the south and LAC’s)</p>
<p>The Jewish holidays and the sense of community are important for her, just as important as a rich assortment of all cultures and religions.</p>
<p>FYI, The Hillel site has alot of info. Look at some of the “small and mighty” these are not necessarily large in numbers.</p>

<p>Hillel numbers are a good starting point. However, The Jewish community is so diverse. Some theists some agnostic. Some cultural some religious. Some conservative some liberal It begs the question what does Hillel consider when it labels a person Jewish.</p>
