jewish life at william and mary?

I just got into William and Mary. I've gotten into some other good schools too and I'm trying to decide where to go. I like W&M a lot, but the main drawback is that I'm Jewish and W&M has the smallest Jewish population of all the schools I applied to. I don't know anything about W&M's Hillel or anything like that. I'm reform and I don't keep kosher so I'm not worried about dining halls. Could anyone give some insight into what Jewish life is like at W&M?

Check out this site:

There are some people there that you can e-mail.

I don't mean to steal your thread but... what about Muslim life at W&M?

I just wanted to encourage you to email the person on the 'prospective students' page that macbwizard linked to. She is very nice and I'm sure would love to answer any questions that you might have.

... as I am a very not religious person, I can offer basically nothing on this topic. Sorry =/. Maybe some of the other posters can be more helpful.

ditto soccerguy- Maddy's very friendly and will answer your questions

I just wanted to add that I'm a Christian and at least from that perspective there are lots of opportunities. Many local churches have shuttle rides and on-campus activities. The school as a whole tries to be very pluralistic (too much so imho)- for example during the Yule Log Ceremony[prior to Christmas break] they have 6 or 7 religious groups share their Christmas 'equivalents'.</edit>

heh, I thought this one was the better than the last 2. I remembered that part as ridiculously long, but this year I didn't feel like that. So either they toned it down or I'm getting old and my memory is going, lol.

There is a small, but a visible Jewish population at W&M, and we do have Hillel as well as Alpha Epsilon Pi.

As with Muslim, there is also a Muslim society here at <a href="http://www.wm.edu/so/msa%5B/url%5D">http://www.wm.edu/so/msa</a>. There is a sizable Middle Eastern and South Asian population at W&M. I believe that a very good proportion if not most of the Asians here are South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Afghan) as well.

I am a Christian, but not a super religious guy either, but we do have religious opportunities for those who seek them and the aforementioned people here have also said that people at these organizations are more than happy to get an email from prospective students.
