Good point. I had used the national Hillel website for info for D 1 and now that we exploring for D2 I should have realized how out of date their info was. We’ll rely on Wake’s #s. thanks

If you need info on Hillel at Wake you can pm me…I’m not too active in Hillel but might be able to help a little. As a Jew at Wake I don’t in any way feel left out. The population is small but there have been no problems with me being jewish–the # is increasing greatly at wake and people from the north, even if not jewish, have been around jewish people before.

The Hillel, for such small #s is pretty active. They hold prayer sessions and have meetings pretty often–there is a pizza night tomorrow and they had a breakfast last weekend with the rabbi. Also, as for Tulane vs Wake–they are totally different.

Tulane is something like 1/3 Jewish and has a huge Jewish presence. The social life is largely based in the city where as Wake’s is not. Wake has a smaller/more academic student body among other differences and its sports are bigger than Tulane’s, although New Orleans provides a lot of things Winston-Salem does not (I do like Winston tho)

dont be so rude, he just wants to make sure that the jewish minority is comfortable at the school because there are so many disrespectful, anti-semetic people out there, so finding a school where the jewish population is happy is important.

smartypants, I think Harry is long gone! His post was from 2009
