They are harder with international applicants especially if you need financial aid. But this is true with most other privates.

so JH is harder with Int'l applicants? what about other privates? are they harder or lenient?

thanks

hey taj, im guessing your an international form india, i got in this year and im frim india too. I fyour not gonna apply for aid they can be kinda harsh on you, butotherwise they do give an international student a fairly lenient look. You couyld also apply early which is your best chance to get here with some aid.

ah jeez , your form indonesia, didnt look at that, but its pretty much the same from fairly anywhere in Asia

hey thanks man,

I would like to know my chances at Johns Hopkins, , and plz remember that I live in Indonesia where there are almost no oppurtunities for research work and things like that.

I would also like to know how to improve my resume, and the minimum SAT scores that i would need

thanks

for a school in indonesia, thats pretty good although you wanna get up on your scores a bit, what is important though is to be able to show the school that you didint have the oppertunities your american counterbats did in term sof extracurricular, research , and stuff. Improve those scores, get some gret school grades, and MOST IMPORTANT write good essays, one that make an impact on the guy reading them , that really helps. Dont omit anything that you have done both curricular and extracurricular, do a good brag sheet, you still have around two years to go im guessing so use it well dude , and if your not looking for aid mention it, if you apply early with good scores you should sail through, regular its always tough but you'll have a good chance with better scores

hey, dude thanks for da reply...really appreciate it. i would like to get an idea of what the minimum SAT scores are and what is considered a 'good' score, oh and by the way, i've got only year left, i'll be a senior next year. any other advice? i would love to get some.. also i would like to whether u have any idea about my chances at the following universities..

Northwestern

Case

UCSD

Duke

GA Tech

U Wash

Rice

thanks

peace

arun, I think if you you increase your scores, try to be around upto like 700 for the english sections, and try to get somewhere like 750 + in math , because math is supposed to be crucial for out of US students, as they are a little lenient on our english skills. Pretty much all these universities go for the same thing i got into Northwestern , U wash and Gtech as well, so the important thing is better your sat scores, and highlight your achievement, so that the person who reads it is not like whatever, but id wow this foreign kid has achieved a lot? DOnt worry man , take the SAT once moe better your scores both on the subject tests as well and you should be able to get into most of these colleges, excpet probably duke is a lot harder than the rest

btw, you got a hotmail address we could chat up sometime

hey my hotmail is arunees23@hotmail.com

just a question...does an american citizen living overseas count as international? cause i've been overseas for ages, and i'm pretty much the same as any other international except i got an american passport...

Hey...the way the Admissions staff looks at applicants is this way. If you go to high school in the US then your file is reviewed by the counselor who reads for that state, even if you are an international student. If you go to school outside the US then your file is reviewed by one of the counselors responsible for international reads, even if you are a US citizen.

This changes though with regard to financial aid and being classified as an international student. If you are a non-US citizen and non-Permanent Resident, then you are considered international for financial aid purposes and will have to complete some additional application materials (I know one document is a personal immigration form).

Hope that helps.

yeah it does. Thanks.
