Jhu 500

So I was reading a 2006 Princeton Review article about Johns Hopkins and I came across this term, "JHU 500" as only 500 out of 4500 students actually go out/party/etc.

How much truth is there to this?

It seems accurate to me. There are other people who have fun in more reserved ways, but personally, I’d say only 500 or so party.

You don’t need to party to have fun-there are lot’s of other things to do.

None. Really ridiculous. Lots of Hopkins kids party.

Lots, maybe… but do you get the perception that it’s more than 500?

I think it basically refers to the greek community/greek parties. There are only about 500 kids that go out to the “greek places” and such, but you’ll find all sorts of alternative social groups and parties.
