Hi Everyone! Johns Hopkins University has been my favorite school for a long time. Recently, I've decided to go into business (I'll probably major in finance or marketing) and am wondering if Johns Hopkins is a good choice. Is JHU a good school for undergrad business?? Thanks!!

Also, I'm a rising senior

Hopkins isn’t exactly known for business and I think the closest major to finance/marketing in terms of business is Economics.

That being said, many banks and businesses do come to Hopkins and we have an E&M minor that focuses on business

There are a few finance classes in the econ department (and a minor in finance) but not like you’d find somewhere with a large business-school. From my experience, JHU is not a target school for major I-banks because it doesn’t have a top-15 business school (everyone I know who got a position in a bank had some sort of connection).

@YanksDolphins: How about management and/or technology consulting? Is JHU a target (or semitarget) for the preeminent firms?

depends on what you define as preeminent. It’s not a target for McKinsey, or BCG. But Bain has been known to show up to JHU along with Deloitte and Accenture.
