JHU Class of 2025 ED II

That’s way too general. You want to use up the 50 characters or they’ll assume you had 0 responsibilities or accomplishments in that activity.

or 150 I believe it is

i made sure to state if i had any leadership positions in my ec, and what the ec comprised of

Because there is such a limitation to the character count, I suggested to D21, who applied during the ED I round, to add a resume. That way she could also explain how she continued her Extracurriculars once COVID hit. As well as go into more detail on her Collaborative efforts. I’ll assume it helped. :relaxed:

Okay, my leadership descriptions were in a seperate part that it gives you, so I didn’t feel the need to restate. I’m not sure what the benefit would be of explaining “soccer” and “tennis” and all that because it’s pretty typical. I hope it doesn’t hurt my application that it’s general. Nervous now

What do you guys think the acceptance rate is for ED II?

depends how many people applied

Soccer for example, this is what I stated (btw this was at the bottom of my app because it was my weakest ec):

Participate in school and club soccer, first in division and city champions 2018 & 2019 for junior boys soccer, 2nd place in club provincials Tier 1.

This is pretty general I think because I didn’t accomplish too much

estimations??

Yeah I probably should’ve done that but it is too late now. I do know that my activities were explained in my letters of recommendation bc coaches and advisors wrote them, but I am concerned now. For example all I wrote for soccer was “JV soccer captain, Varsity starting defensive member” and like for HMUN I wrote “won both an honorable mention and an outstanding delegate award”

You didn’t state responsibilities or specific awards?

I stated specific awards for clubs where I won specific awards, there was none for soccer.

It’s spilt milk just hope for an acceptance now. It probably wont cause you to get rejected but your ec’s can seem weaker if you’re too general. Good luck!

You should be good.

Thank you I appreciate all your replies. It’s hard for me to know exactly how to do things because my parents had never seen common app and my school does not help us.

uhhhh considering the acceptance rate for ed 1 was around 20%… I would probably say lower than that?

wait is this the first year they offered ed 2?

Yep. 20% for ED I. Wow…

I think they cut down on ED 1 to save space for ED 2 this year, I estimate about 200-300 acceptances

maybe i’m getting confused, but since more people are applying this year, is it possible that they may accept more ed2 applicants because they’re not sure how many rd people will commit? or am i just flat out wrong?

I would like to add that due to test optional, many weaker candidates applied because the SAT/ACT was no longer a hindrance.
