Just curious - my son is now (well,in Sept) a 10th grader, so we are starrting to think a little about college. Does going to several years of JHU's CTY camp impress the JHU adcom at all? Particularly if the evaluations are all very positive (and in math/computer science?)

no it really doesn't help at all...

but:
1) I live near JHU and thus know MANY people that get accepted/attend
2) I know MANY people who did CTY

so with that said, I will say:

Kids that do CTY are often the same one's who end up exceling in school and therefore are those who get into top schools. So it looks like your son is on the right track! yay!

My sense is that the admissions people are generally quite fond of CTY and the experience will be viewed as a plus. That said, it is not going to be a major factor compared to high school record, essays, recs, ECs, recommendations, etc. Many Hopkins students are CTY alums.

Plus I heard it's fun and a great way to meet new friends

CTY is on the JHU campus but is not affiliated with the undergraduate study program. It is a program like any summer (or other) program with any other university. The fact that he did this program would look amazing to the adcoms but the fact that it was JHUCTY would not have any impact. I'm sure with his accomplishments he'll have a good chance with JHU!
