JHU Early Decision Forum

Nope definitely can’t handle that kind of news at school! :0 gonna wait in agony for 3 hours before I can check…almost 5 days guys

Guys, Hopkins still hasn’t received my financial aid stuff that I was missing, even though I sent it in last week. I’m freaking out because decisions come out in 4 days…

would that really be a reason to not accept you though?

Well I’m just worried about financial aid. Like, if this means I will get my financial aid decision late or if I won’t get any financial aid at all because I submitted these things late. Do you think they’ll just give me a financial aid estimate late or not at all?

i mean if its just that one form I’m sure they will take it late. but I’m not sure because in all honesty i have no idea how these things work. can you email them possibly?

@eps96 just did! They said if they don’t get there in time, I’m going to get an estimated financial aid package (if I get accepted, of course) based on what was submitted, which may change once the other form arrives. Whew! 3 days left guys!

yay! now you can relax haha

The fact that we recieve decisions on friday the 13th freaks me out

i know… but not everyone can be unlucky!

To get our minds off of Friday, What made you guys fall in love with the school? What made you apply for early decision at Hopkins rather than other schools?

it’s amazing facilities, the diversity of people, the hardworking nature of the students, the residential system, the clear enthusiasm the students have for research

The research opportunities, the open-ish curriculum, the library, the climbing wall! the fact that its one of the best universities in the world, its involved in a lot of research with its own applied physics lab and space telescope institute; so i mean basically everything. and i know people say baltimore sucks but hey, at least its not in the middle of nowhere!

aw but now this is making me sad because i might not get in :(

For me it would be the distance (not too far not too close), the beautiful campus, world class reputation, and the combination of successful athletics with amazing academics, which is rare.

Location is a biggie for me…anyone applying from MD?

For me, it was mostly the fact that they had a writing seminars major (NOT an English major with a concentration in creative writing).

hey guys, i need your opinion on something. on my application i wrote that i was doing research with a scientist and i wrote where i was doing the research and what program i was part of. at the time i didn’t really have a clear picture of what to call the research so i just said what overall branch of science it was under. will this look bad since i didn’t specify the specific research i was doing?

@eps96 I also did research and did not specify the exact project. Since there is so little room to explain extra curricular activities, I don’t think it will look bad at all. If there was any record of what you did you could have put it in the additional information section, but it’s too late for that anyway.

2 more days, everyone! :O

dagis22, did you put it in the additional information section?
