Unfortunately, based upon my son’s experience, I would say you have little chance.

Both your gpa, and SAT, in my opinion are too low.

And you are an asian to boot.

In fact, I would say that you are wasting your ED choice.

But of course, I could be wrong.

I am pessimistic because my son had better stats (although worse EC’s), and got waitlisted.

Nothing wrong with taking a shot though, if you really want to go there.

3.29 is a a low WEIGHTED GPA, and so is the 1980 SAT that you got. Couple that with the fact that you are Asian and there are many more people that have higher qualifications like you, it seems you will be rejected. I would not waste my ED on JHU if I were you, maybe a low tier UC or even CC if you want to transfer later.

lol. i love when people on this website recommend someone with a 1980 to community college. Bro, even though you aren’t up to JHU’s standards you are still a solid candidate for many other great schools. Maybe not top 50 schools, but good schools nonetheless. Good luck!

The fact that people actually think a 1980 isn’t game for a top 50 school and some are even recommending community college is just depressing. My brother had a similar-slightly lower GPA and an 1880 SAT and got into GW. I agree JHU is a bit too high for you, but you never know. Also, I would try a school like Tufts. I’m sure you would like it and it may be hard to get into, but somewhat realistic. Or even William and Mary or Bucknell would be great choices for ED. Jus suggestions. Aim a little lower for ED but top 50 is certainly attainable. Also, no one can talk you out of a school you love, to be honest.

Your GPA and SAT make JHU unrealistic (even with ED), but your stats are good/there are plenty of schools you could get into. Are there any other schools you were looking at?

Agree with above, given your stats JHU, even ED, is unrealistic. GPA, SAT and class rank are all very low for JHU. You might want to try some other top 50 schools.

The chance is low. Consider other colleges.
