Jhu ED.. Low GPA High SAT

<p>I have a 3.4 uw (low, but took overall 13 APs and 9 honors) and got a 2200 on my SAT</p>

<p>I am captain of the academic team.. president of the speech and debate team and founder of the model UN Club.. </p>

<p>You don’t seem too have much that makes you stand out… If you had a higher GPA with that courseload, it might’ve been ok. I’d say it’s a reach.</p>

<p>Your GPA is definitely low for JHU and other competitive schools, but you never know what might happen. Do you have access to Naviance to get an idea of how students at your HS who went to JHU did with GPA and test scores?</p>

<p>JHU is a stretch, but your sat score manages to give you a legitimate shot at getting in.</p>

This is a really good idea. There are colleges that have a much higher acceptance rate for my school than for the country, so I can get a much better sense of what’s practical to apply to.</p>

<p>I got in RD with a 3.5, 12 APs, 2340. It’s certainly doable. Write good essays and excel in other portions of your application to make up for your weaknesses.</p>
