If I keep up my grades and do well on my AP tests, do I have a good shot at the schools mentioned in my title?

You sound really smart, so I’m gonna let you figure out your chances for yourself.

Well if you get that 36, then I don’t know how you can’t get in to all five because you have the numbers and everything else.

@Francaisalamatt - No need to be sassy. I’m inexperienced with the college admissions process as a whole. I don’t know too much about how Ivies and other top schools do their admissions process. I see so many people say “you never know about ivies” or “its just random” but there has to be a lot more than that to the process. They don’t just randomly pick.

Sorry, I just think people should be able to think for themselves a little bit more. Most chance threads, like yours, are so incredibly obvious, I can’t help thinking that all the posters are doing is looking for people to tell them how awesome they are. The best validation comes from within.

Anyway, since you’re new, I really do apologize. But people are right when they say Ivies are a crapshoot. You see perfect applicants turned away, and then see the guy with a 3.6 and 2050 accepted (most would say that those numbers would essentially disqualify you). You have a really strong application, you have a great to perfect chance wherever you apply, so my advice is NOT to stress yourself out by posting threads like these. Just relax, and be confident in yourself; it will show in your essays.

@Francaisalamatt - Thanks for the input. I’m sorry too. I understand where you’re coming from just by reading the innumerable threads in the Chances section lol. I will heed your advice and not worry about my chances atm. Sorry for getting mad at you.

It’s cool, the Internet sucks at relaying tone.

There are students I personally know who have 2400 SAT’s, 4.0UW, Valedictorians and they get denied from HYPS. Stanford is going to be really difficult, because of AA and your Asian so your chances are slim.
