JHU high school grad requirements

AdmissionsDaniel -- need help! I won't have the recommended 4 math/4 english/4 social science/4 foreign language/4 science courses for application to JHU. My high school has so many "other requirements" -- PE, health, practical arts, performing arts, etc that I can't get it all in.

What I will have is 4 math/4 english/4 foreign language for sure ... so the question is should I go 3 science and 3 social science -- or should I can I take 4 social science and 2 natural science (honors bio/chem)? (which is what I would rather do) or does it matter?

I want to be in the writers seminars -- I'm editor of the on-line school newspaper and have been very involved in the San Diego area writing project at UCSD for several years. (I was a TA for the program this past summer.)

Would appreciate your perspective.

PS I live in CA, if that matters ... and go to public high school.

Sorry but I do not provide individual advice on high school course selection on these College Confidential Forums. I’d suggest you read through the following Hopkins Forums discussion thread that answers many questions related to high school curriculums as they relate to the admissions process:
