JHU is now #1

<p>Like someone else who posted on here, I too was rejected ED from Dartmouth and Hopkins is now my #1 school and I'd like some chances.</p>

<p>SAT: 2150 (M: 740, CR: 700, W: 710)
Unweighted GPA: 3.78 Weighted GPA: 4.04
SAT Subjects: Math2c: 720, Chemistry: 780, Physics: 710
APs: Calc AB: 5, Biology: 4, English: 4, Physics: 4, Chemistry: 3 (first ap test ever, choked sophomore year...I choked), US History: 3
Awards: 1st place in biochemistry at regional fair. Best of fair at regional fair. ISEF (international science fair) finalist. AP Scholar with Distinction</p>

<p>Intended major: Biophysics</p>

<p>Extracurricular activities, Work Experience
-Varsity cross country (9th-12th grade) I just contacted the coach, but looking at the roster on the website, I am more than fast enough to be on the team.
-Varsity tennis (9th, 10th grade) Quit to focus on running
-Varsity track (11,12th grade)
-Science fair (10th,11th,12th) won awards in 11th
-Mayo Clinic Dept of molecular oncology research intern. (summer 2010)</p>

<p>You seem like a pretty standard competitive applicant. You have a good shot, but not a shoe-in or anything.</p>

<p>Lucky! You got to research at Mayo? How was that? I’ve done research at the local university and done a lot of stuff with our hospital’s pathology dept, but I can only dream of what it would be like to research at Mayo.</p>

<p>Sorry about Dartmouth though.</p>

<p>I think it’s a big reach. I think JHU in RD is harder than Dartmouth in ED. That said, you never know. </p>

<p>FWIW, my daughter was also rejected ED from Dartmouth and was accepted RD at Hopkins. She absolutely loved her time at Hopkins, did well, and went to Harvard for graduate school. She often says that getting rejected ED from Dartmouth was the best thing that ever happened to her.:)</p>
