<p>Yeah, they’re giving you a choice. The more pertinent question is does JHU have a preference?</p>

<p>does that mean if i chose the commonapp essay I’m at a disadvantage and will probably be rejected? uh oh. i just didn’t like the communities essay and i thought my commonapp essay was good.</p>
<p>There is NO DISADVANTAGE for those students choosing not to submit the communities essay but rather submitting one of the Common App. essays.</p>
