17 views and no replies? Cmon people! Tchaikovsky, I think you have a fabulous chance at JHU!

Your statistics are AMAZING, to put it simply.. wow. Your extra curriculars are a bit common though.. no real hook ec-wise, though state orchestra is something to brag about. What I am trying to say is that your ec's are decent.. but your stats are amazing.. you definitely have an excellent shot at JHU, I think.

Thanks guys....yeah I realize my EC's aren't exactly original, but I'm really dedicated to them, and they take almost all my time since I have so many positions. I mostly pride myself on composing since that is at least something uncommon in my school.

I think you will get into johns hopkins!

Why not Harvard?

Hahaha, I didn't apply to Harvard.

You could've easily applied as a biomedical engineer, and still get in. Nice stats!

OP u forgot to say you go to andover
your def in lol

Hahaha
10

I agree with PRincetonbound, you could even have applied for the hardest major, and you'll still get in. What are you planning on majoring in?

I plan on majoring in Biochemistry. Thanks for your reply!

Here is an update that I sent to all my colleges:
-National Merit Finalist
- My science bowl team made regionals (so far) for the National Science Bowl Competition
- One of my music pieces was announced to be premiered Dresden 2006 - Sound, City, Silence composition competition (for piano trio).
- I was accepted to attend the Third International Workshop for Young Composers (rolling acceptance)
- Third prize for International de Composition pour Orchestre d'Harmonie (performance in June)
Hopefully it will help? :)

you definately have a hook now with your music composition.
congrats on your amazing credentials! i hope you make it into JHU and decide to go there.
of your list, is there one school you like in particular? just out of curiosity.

Thanks :), I hope this does help. I'm the least interested in Dartmouth and Williams, but I would be happy to go to any of them.

JHU would be a match for you ;)

I agree with yale08

i wouldn't be so bold to say a school with a <30% acceptance rate is a match/safety for anyone. Just read the amazing credentials of those who were rejected last year. It's all about finding the school that is the best fit for the individual, and being able to stand out above the rest.

That's very true Spikedsoymilk...if I get accepted to JHU, I'm not sure I will even go. It's right now at the bottom of my list. (not including the UC's)

Any more opinions?
