JHU, StonyBrook, GW, Princeton, BU, Columbia, Cornell, Drexel 7 Year

Thanks!

Your SAT score is relatively low for JHU, Princeton, Columbia and Cornell. YOu also lack quality ECs to be really considered but if you write compelling essays you might stand a chance. Plus you’re asian which is not going to help. I would try the ACT to see if you can do well on it. The others are very much likely and I could see you getting aid from drexel or stony brook. Good luck

Chance me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1396329-chance-me-osu.html

I have a 1460 with the Math/CR so I think it’s pretty decent. I checked Collegeboard and they said it’s among the upper 50% for both. I’ll try to write (3) good essays because of the 2 Supplements. Hopefully they see that I’ll be a good candidate. For the Drexel, would I have a good chance at the 7 year?

I forgot to add FBLA (2 years) and I got to state level for Word Processing I test. So, that would be an activity and an award I guess.

I think you have a good chance for Columbia and Cornell the mid 50% is around 1950-2250 for SATs and you will definitely get into Stony Brook.

Yeah I looked at Cornell and it seems good, but I’m not sure about Columbia. I compared my grades to College Board and it showed that I was in the 25-30% of students for all 3 categories.

Bumping, I’d like more feedback please!

Reaches for JHU, GW
High Reaches Princeton, Columbia, Cornell

So you think I’d be able to get into Drexel’s 7 year program?

Bumping for more feedback please!

I have very similar stats as you in MANY ways its almost uncanny (2200 Superscore, 3.96 UW GPA, Top 3% of class) PLUS I also live in NJ and im also an Indian male. To add to that, im looking at the same exact majors and almost same schools too!!

I think you are a high match to GW, JHU and maybe Cornell and a Reach to Columbia and Stony Brook you r in (Unless you are applying to their 7yr program like I am then its like a match/high match)

Dinomite: How do you think I’d compete in the Drexel 7 year program? And what’s teh different between high match and just reach.

Princeton & Columbia = high reach (less than 10% RD), Cornell & Hopkins = reach (less than 25%, but if you apply ED to either much better chance of close to 50/50), GWU, BU, Stony Brook = match. No idea re Drexel 7 year program.

Yeah, I’m looking towards ED for Hopkins, hopefully I can get in. If I can’t though, I got Drexel’s 7 year and Cornell as a backup.

And I changed my list of colleges:

 1. Drexel’s 7 year program
 2. Johns Hopkins University
 3. Cornell University
 4. Stony Brook University
 5. George Washington University
 6. Boston University
 7. Rutgers University

Bumping for more chances with my new list of colleges.

high match is a better chance than reach → i think you have a good shot at Drexel 7 yr.

Also, just as a note, cornell in NOT a back up lol

Haha I made the list based off of preferences, but after further inspection into the BA/BS/MD Programs near my area, I’ve decided to add a few more colleges onto my list:

1) Penn State-Jefferson Medical College 7 Year Med Program
2) Villanova-Drexel University 7 year Med Program
3) Drexel-Drexel University 7 year Med Program
3.5) Lehigh-Drexel University 7 year Med Program (Not sure about this as of right now, I’ll post when I confirm if I am going to apply or not)
4) Johns Hopkins University - ED
5) Cornell University
6) Stony Brook University
7) George Washington University
8) Boston University
9) Rutgers University

In my order of preference. If you could rate the first 5 colleges, that would be amazing at this point. And thanks to everyone, especially Dinomite, for helping me through this college process. It means a lot that you guys care enough to rate me in what has been an extremely stressful time for me.

Bumping for help!

For the 7 year programs, your SATs are a bit on the low end (drexel and jefferson usually accept students with around 1500 cr+M scores). There isn’t anything compelling or unique in your EC’s besides the japan activity, but I still think you have a shot.

JHU ed–A good chance. JHU loves to accept students ED, though recently it’s getting harder. In the past they had around a 40% acceptance rate for ED students.

Cornell–you havve a decent shot, but your SAT’s and your status as an asian will kill you.
Stony brook–in
gwu–in
boston–in
rutgers-in
