I've been looking recently at the summer programs offered at JHU including Pre-college courses, Discover Hopkins, and Engineering Innovation. Can anyone give any information on the quality and value of these?

Also, JHU is one of my top choices right now. What's the influence of attending one of these summer programs on admissions? Would going to, say, Eng Innovation boost one applicant over a similar one? And how would it affect getting accepted to the BME program?

If any admissions representatives could answer, that would be thoroughly appreciated. Thanks!

The simplest way to put it is that attending a summer program at Hopkins would certainly look good your application, but it would help just as much as having the equivalent program at any other top university on your Hopkins application, not any more just because it’s a Hopkins program

It helps just as much as volunteering all summer long, or having an internship all summer long. No they don’t give brownie points for paying money to attend JHU summer camp, but they will give you points compared to sitting on your couch the whole day.
