Hopkins Insider: Transfer and Wait List Decisions Released Today (5.15.09)

omg nervous. so nervous.

me too! did anyone hear anything???

So I just got a surprise email from JHU. It was about the “summer” waitlist. Here is part of what the email read:

Greetings from Baltimore! I am writing to you with an update on the status of the Johns Hopkins University wait list for the Class of 2013. Although we have currently met our enrollment target for next year, in the event that space becomes available, we will admit students from a small, extended wait list. The Admissions Committee would like to offer you a place on this “summer” wait list.

I find this shocking because I didn’t even turn in my card to remain on the regular waitlist. Why would I be offered a spot on the “summer” waitlist if I didn’t want to remain on the regular waitlist?

I got that offer too. Quite ridiculous. This is my second extended waitlist offer. And I have yet to hear back from two other regular waitlists. W t f. None of the privates want me.

Whoa! It’s blueducky from Columbia’s extended waitlist!

Has everyone heard from JHU? I haven’t received an email, although I definitely dropped the little blue card into my mailbox… Did JHU ever send out a notification that they got your card? I realize this is incredibly late to ask this question, but it never crossed my mind the card would be lost >_<

Should everyone who chose to remain on the wait list get the email notification concerning the wait list of class of 2013? It’s 8 now and i havnt received an email…nor any kind of info about wait list…im scared that im released…?

"This spring, the Admissions Committee offered you a place on the wait list for the class of 2013 at Johns Hopkins University. The wait list allows us to offer places to students who submitted very strong applications, should space become available.

I am sorry to tell you that we do not anticipate admitting any additional students from the wait list this year. We have now met our enrollment target for the fall.

I realize this letter may come as a disappointment, but I hope you will remember that we were impressed by your credentials, and we appreciate your continued interest in Johns Hopkins. Please keep in mind that Johns Hopkins welcomes applications for transfer and graduate school admission every year. Perhaps you will think of us again in the future.

I wish you all the best in your college career."

^^ same… + very jealous im not an the “summer” extended waitlist… -_-

What…there’s a wait list release letter??

I still havn’t gotten any email for the undergraduate office…hmm

any one in the same boat?? im very confused.

No more waitlist for me…

:(

I am also in the same situation, han.

I see…I dont think any kind of email will come today since its Sunday…but i’m planning on calling them tomorrow to figure this out. I know I definitely sent in the blue reply card.

I got a notice that they arent pulling any off of the waitlist, but maybe it was just the first round, you mite still get in the next rounds…

So Hopkins isn’t taking anyone from the waitlist (not counting the “summer” waitlist)? I’ve noticed many people who sent in their cards didn’t receive an email at all (I’m one of them)… why would this happen? Don’t they send everything out to everyone at the same time? Hmm I’m utterly confused.

I posted full updates on the wait list this morning:

For those who commented that you did not receive a wait list decision email, is that still true? It seems some of the messages were delayed by our email servers over the weekend. They should have arrived by Sunday evening though. If you chose to remain on the wait list but received no email, then you may call the Admissions Office at 410-516-8171.
