so I figured I'd start a thread for people trying to transfer into JHU this year. I couldn't find any thread for them so yeah here it is. I believe the decisions are coming out Mid May for transfers and such. This is just a place for transfers to keep tabs on the process and or what not. Post any concerns or questions you have on here.

I am a Purdue student trying my luck at JHU, UPenn, and a few schools back home in Texas. I am currently interested in pursuing mechanical engineering (specification to be determined next year).

Hope ya'll post on this so I don't look like an idiot :-D

Daughter also has applied to transfer to JHU from a school in Minnesota. She is interested in International Relations and Writing Seminars. Decisions can’t come soon enough for our liking. Fingers crossed for everyone who is waiting!

Good idea for a transfer student thread (that’s why I’ve been watching this forum).

I spoke to admissions a few weeks back and they had mentioned mid-May. They email decisions to those with email addresses on file with their application. I’m non-trad so not holding my breath, but figured it was worth a shot.

Do note: May 15th is the day we are hoping to release transfer admissions decisions. That is not an officially confirmed date though – it is only a target date. We may need more time.

I applied to JHU too, and the whole waiting so long thing is making me really nervous because I’d like to know where i’m going to be next year and if I should plan to be where I am again!
Did any of you get confirmation that JHU got your app? I didnt…
Glad i found this thread!

what would be funny if they sent notices but then those notices got lost in the mail… i was always concerned about that. Last Saturday my mailbox was stufffffed full of mail sent out over a week ago… seems like it does happen. I seriously had over 40 letters in the mail.

Yeah they told me that too, but I applied to another school(which i have since decided not to go to) which told me I was missing something, so I’m still a little worried about it. I guess if i dont get a notification when everyone else does, it means that i never actually applied!

Notices about an incomplete application are not sent through the postal mail so there is no way of that happening. We contact transfer applicants whose applications are incomplete through email and phone. If you have not been contacted that you can safely assume your application is complete.

omg yay!! that made my worries disappear. When I called, they said it was by mail at the admissions office. I wonder if email is the new mail and if you specifically have to say snail mail from now on if you mean regular mail.

I wonder if the 15th target date is going to be pushed back.
AdmissionsDaniel, do you know how many applicants approximately there are this year?

Just wondering, AdmissionsDaniel, how things stand for the possible release of transfer admissions decisions tomorrow, the 15th. If they will not come out then, is there another date by which they will be released?

Thank you for any information you can provide!

Admitted…for SPRING. I didnt even know that could happen, as if transferring isnt hard enough without coming in mid year. Well at least this makes my decision easier, being that transferring from a quarter system in spring would be literally impossible because that is mid quarter for me. Oh well, hope others had better luck!
