hey how likely is it to go to jhu as undergrad and then get into their med school from there? is there really a distinct advantage if ur say pretty decent with gpa and mcat scores than if u had those same stats at a school ranked in like the fifties or something by US news?

I doubt there is any significant advantage. The university sending the most graduates to Hopkins Medical School is Hopkins, but even then, the acceptance rate is insanely low.

my dad actually asked an adcom at hopkins this question; they replied that in fact the admissions rate for hopkins students is essentially the same (negliglibly higher, maybe a percentage point) to jhu medical school as for outside students.

i remember reading somewhere that they accepted about 12 or so students from jhu some time ago, which is A LOT considering how many people total they accept.
