JHU/UPenn Chances? Will chance back!

I'm planning on applying early decision to either Johns Hopkins or UPenn. I love both schools, but I don't want to waste my early decision app on UPenn if there is no chance because JHU also has high ED rates that would really help.
What are my chances at UPenn early decision and JHU regular decision I guess? Or should I just apply ED to JHU? Thanks!!

White, female, no legacy at either school

SAT 2s: Physics: 760, Math 2: (taking it in October hoping for a mid 700s score) Math 1: 720, Biology E: 710

GPA: 94.59% (convert this to an approximate unweighted GPA?- I know it doesn't really work like that)

Classes
APs: Biology, Physics B, US History, Chemistry (possibly), Macro, BC Calculus
-always took the hardest course load available, but was limited by the way my school's schedules work

College Essay: Average/good

Recommendations: Good/very good

Great ECs and standardized test scores… that GPA might kill you though. ED to Hopkins i think is your safest idea

Yay it’s nice to meet a Johns Hopkins applicant!! I’m only a junior though. I also got a 2350 SAT(in sophomore year). I am also VERY active in research and planning to submit my project to Siemens and ISEF. What a coincidence! I think you have a good chance at getting in. Shoot for higher SAT 2s though mid 700s aren’t a good place to be. Also work on bringing that GPA up!

JHU ED: Match (high match RD)
UPenn: Reach (ED or RD)

You have a good chance at both schools.

Penn is tougher to get into, but you seem to have a very strong application.

I would consider applying to Penn ED and apply to JHU regular if you don’t get into Penn early. Be sure to put a lot of effort into your essays.

Your GPA isn’t bad, and SAT scores very nice. If you are at a competitive school, remember that the university considers your school profile. Best of luck :)

Disregard what most say up there^ You will get in to JHU RD. Its almost a guarantee…Keep your options open and apply ED to Upenn. I wish I had a 2350.

lol at almost a guarantee. i would caution what the above poster says. 25% of JHU enrolled freshman had a 2310 SAT this year with all enrolled freshmen having an average gpa of 3.88 - admitted students have higher credentials. You’re academically within the range, but there’s so much more to consider. Make sure you do well in the essay and interviews

Your GPA is essentially a 4.0 since in the 4.0 system an A is 4.0 whether its a 94% or a 100%.
