Which one assigns more work?
Which one has harder tests?

Anyone who has been to either school, can you post anecdotal information on what studying was like, or how much work you did after school?

This completely depends on the classes you take and cannot be generalized. Honors vs non-honors in math and science will make a difference. Your aptitude for a subject will make a huge difference.

In general, due to the Core, you will need to do a lot more in your non-area of expertise at the UChicago. At JHU, you can stick closer to your chosen field. Which is better? Depends on you. I went to UChicago and loved the Core as a Bio major (at least in retrospect), my son currently at JHU would rather die than have to do take all those non math/sci courses.

Both schools have reputations as being extremely rigorous and difficult (Chicago is actually modeled on Hopkins). As ihs76 said, the Core at Chicago makes a difference. I heavily considered Chicago and I think I would have liked it there, but the Core was a big turn-off.

And you can’t get a genuine answer to your questions. It completely depends on who’s teaching, and what classes.

sorry to laugh, but seems like a pretty silly question! tests and workload will vary from professor to professor, let a lone school to school…

all i can say you shouldn’t be afraid to work hard. both schools are very rigorous, so there’s no need worry about that which school will work you the hardest. at the end of the day, when you cross that stage to receive your diploma, you will be extremely proud of the effort you put in :)

sorry, that was really corny, but im graduating and can’t help myself :D

there’s a host of reasons to pick one school over the other, but i don’t think this is a good one.
