Jhu

So I would really like to attend, but I have a couple of questions.

Anyway to increase my chances outside of school?

I am going to start science olympiad this upcoming year and really want to make it to nationals in cell biology. Anyone have experience?

I am attending Harvard this summer and stanford next (probably).
Any other ways to increase chances?

Also any science club I can start up (we have none at our school)?

Based on my experiences with Science Olympiad, you yourself do not go to nationals - it depends on the ranking of your team at regionals. Good luck though! It's a lot of fun!

I've been in science olympiad for 3 years now, from what i understood, you could only make it to states/nationals if your team does...
Because if getting first in competition qualified for states I should have been there three times. So you might want to check into that, unless you know your school will qualify to states. :) good luck.

It says on the website team up to fifteen, can my friend and I by ourselves compete in one divison and go to nationals? (like DECA)

Well, your team of two would need to participate and do well in over a dozen (IIRC) events. I think you'll need more people.

gotcha, however I just did some research and it looks like the biology olympiad is my best bet (because it is individual and specific to bio). Are there any other bio competitions you guys know of?

This might sound like a weird thing, but instead of focusing on the science, maybe try broadening your interests outside of the purely academic? Try interesting jobs, your school's drama/music departments... interning for your favorite teacher?
