JMU CIS BBA-College of Business vs. CUNY Baruch Zicklin CIS

Hello. I’ve been considering JMU just for the BBA in CIS because it is accredited by the CAC of ABET. It is one of the few BBA programs to have this accreditation (other than West TAMU, Kennesaw State, etc.), but I’ve also been considering the BBA CIS program at CUNY Baruch. Which one is higher ranked and results in better jobs (higher paying)? I know that these are both very different schools, but I would like any help in this decision. Thank you.

The Zicklin CIS program isn’t CAC of ABET-accredited. Will this affect job outcomes, etc? Also, I know that JMU as a whole consists a very friendly community, has nice food, etc. but NY is my home, and I get in-state tuition (less than $7000!) too. Tuition is one of my least concerns though.

I don’t know much about the program you’re interested in, but both schools have very good reputations — particularly in their respective regions. Do you want to stay in the NY area, or do you want to end up in the D.C. or VA area? Nothing is in stone, but recruiting might be more local. Good luck!

I don’t care which area I’m in (NY and NoVA are great places), but I want to go to the best school possible for a BBA in CIS. I’m leaning towards JMU for the CAC-ABET accreditation though. Like I said, Baruch isn’t CAC of ABET-accredited and people say that it isn’t the best degree for a technical role (because it misses some of the key CS concepts). FYI, CAC stands for Computing Accreditation Commission.
