Thank you CLM for the post! We loved the campus at JMU when we visited. The only negative was that it is more of a liberal arts school. However, that said, with the recent acreditation of the engineering program we are back on even ground with VT. She loved both schools so I guess she’s got a tough decision to make if she gets into VT. Hopefully the decision process won’t drag on till April!

Accepted!
29 act
31 act superstores
3.75 (unweighted)
4.3 (weighted)

Very very excited!!

S deferred. 30 ACT, 3.7, OOS. Accepted to Penn St, MD.

Congrats to everyone! I’m currently a junior at JMU so if you have any questions, just let me know!

I was admitted with a 4.0 and 24 on my ACT. I am currently in 5 AP’s. I took 3 last year, and 1 sophomore year-9 total. I am president of Latin Honor society at my school and secretary of National Honor Society among other extracurriculars.
When the JMU rep visited my school she noted that early action is more competitive. Also that when they look at applications they look at applicant that have gone beyond the requirements. She also said that the lower 25th percentile is filled with applicants that had lower test scores but higher GPA’s.
Good luck to everyone that was deferred, I am sure that you all will be accepted!
