I've had mostly B's and A's every year, with one or two C's. My academics are nothing amazing, but my work/volunteer/EC's aren't too shabby.

I'm not totally sure where I want to go, but I'm thinking about...

who knows where else... any suggestions based on those?

Nice EC’s and they may help more than I am giving you credit for. ^ your SAT and you will have a much better chance at your schools. What is you W-GPA. Have you taken a ACT?

Wow. Nice ECs! Like you said, the scores + grades aren’t perfect but the ECs look great. They certainly make mine look bad…

James Madison -In

George Mason In

Virginia Tech Low - Reach/Reach. Idk I’ve seen some real blockheads get into VT.

Elon - Not Sure… Sorry

College of Charleston - Reach

Boston U - Reach

George Washington - Reach

Carnifex, do you actually think I have a chance at UVA? I know they claim to not have a minimum gpa/sat, but really? If I could though, that would be amazing.

Sorry for bumping again, but I’m curious what people think.

What part of VA are you from? Being from certain counties makes it much easier to get into UVA than others because the school has some weird policy about taking a percentage of kids from each county (b/c it’s a state school). So the problem you run into is that if you’re from NoVa it’s highly competitive.
If you’re not from NoVa or one of the competitive counties around Richmond I’d say you have a realistic shot. Your GPA is higher than mine was(had a 3.47) and you’re ECs are better (I played two varsity sports and have a blackbelt in judo. Beyond that I helped out/worked at a horsefarm in Middleburg), but I had a higher SAT score by a couple hundred points.
I’d say apply knowing that it’s a reach. If you get in you’ll be extremely happy, if not you knew it was a reach going in so no great loss.
My family has a house on Sullivans Island (outside of Charleston)and I consider CofC, but UVA is just such a better school. CofC is highly competitive for out of state students (it’s not even a very good school, just great location). I’d say you’re a reach there as well. Both have amazing looking girls if that matters to you.

Dude, you HAVE to get those SATs up. If you get them up to around an 1800, you are in at JMU and GMU and most likely VT. In fact, we had a couple girls with SATs around 1800 get into William and Mary or UVA. Sure, they were in the top 5 students, but we are in NoVA, so it is a bit tougher. I am not sure about the other schools, but if you increase you SAT, because your GPA and ECs are not half bad, you can get into those schools.
